Friday night antics.

After just a few outfit changes (see post before) I finally found my outfit.
I went for army green short shorts, a cute colourful printed vest from New Look, a topshop sheer black shirt and black topshop wedges.

A few outfit changes.

A rule of of mine, always try on more than one outfit.
I always find myself going back to the first outfit I tried on but I'm never content until I have seen a few options first, and I am more than certain that I am not the only one who does this.
Am I right or am I right?

You can never go wrong with a shirt.

I never realized how many shirts took place in my wardrobe, here are a few.
One of the reason's I love shirt's so much is the fact they are so easy to wear and can be worn in so many different ways, you can wear it as a jacket, you can tie it up, layer it, button it up or down. I think you get the drift.

My favorite necklace.

I may have many necklaces but that doesn't stop me from going back to my favorite gold peace sign necklace, I'm obsessed with it. I bought it from a little boutique called Gems for £10, it will remain my favorite until i find something better.

Versace for H&M

The title say's it all, how very exciting
My twitter timeline has been going crazy this morning, at the news of the incredible collaboration. The thing I love most about H&M you never know what they are going to do next and so far they haven't failed to surprise me. I've always been a fan of Donatella Versace but being a student with no job my love for the brand has not gone any further than drooling over the collections over the internet, from November 17th this can all begin to change as the collection will be hitting more than 300 stores worldwide.
Here Donatella Versace wears a dress from the collection to take her runway bow at her men's show yesterday.

Surely I'm not the only one who is excited?

The only way is up.

I received my 6th assignment through today which mean's I am half way through my course at The British college of professional styling, 6 more to go and I will be a qualified professional stylist as they say. Along with my new assignment I also received my feedback from the previous assignment and I couldn't be happier with it, the feedback I have been getting just keeps getting better and better. My tutor said my work is beautiful, successful, valuable and fantastic all in one short paragraph, my tutor also said I have some very good work to include into my portfolio, so I'm very pleased. Thing's finally seem to be looking up after loosing someone very important to me in the worst way possible, quitting my job and dropping out of college I can finally see the light, I have 12 weeks until I graduate, I have some amazing interviews for internships and I have the best people around me.

Quote of the day.

" We're all character's and simply playing our part in one giant movie that we call life"

A model's day off.

I'm always looking for new style icon's and I would always start by looking at my favourite actresses, designers and singers for inspiration but it has come to my attention that we have new style icon's to look up to. They would be models. It's not just the fact they look good in most things (that's their job right?) but they seem to have that effortless style. Jean's, a baggy T, biker boots, jacket and a trendy straw hat and they can make the street their runway. Model's spend most of their working hour's getting dressed by other people, playing dress up and getting told what to wear, so when it is time to clock off for the day they finally get their say.  You don't have to wear bold colour's and extravagant print's to stand out or try to express yourself, you can take the laid back approach which I have noticed by looking at many "off duty model blogs" is what most model's do. I'm defiantly no model myself and even though I think I have a pretty clear idea of what a model's sense of style may include I took the opportunity to ask a model herself, a very beautiful model at that Michaela Ireland a few questions.

Q1. What are your favourite high street brands to shop at?
A1. I usually shop at Topshop on oxford st's basement store, American apparel, h&m, Zara.

Q2. How would you explain your style?
A2. I would explain my style as fresh, clean-cut yet comfortable, if you're not comfortable in what you're wearing, it will show through.

Q3. Your lucky enough to work with some amazing fashion brand's do you learn anything from them?
A3. I have learnt that accessories can easily make or break an outfit. I also usually learn what will be coming through within the next few seasons, so I often take main trends and incorporate them into what I wear.

Q4. When your not doing shoot's or having casting's what do you like to wear on your day off?
A4 .On my days off I'll lounge about in tights and a long vest, or jogging bottoms and an ironed shirt.

Q5. What is your favourite item in your closet at the moment at the moment?
A5. My favourite item in my closet at the moment are my red corduroy shorts, they go with anything yet they'll never fail to make a statement on the outfit.

Michaela may be stylish and love fashion but her main priority is to be comfortable. Like Michaela said in question two "If you're not comfortable in what you're wearing, it will show through." and I couldn't agree more. After talking to the lovely model it got me to thinking a rule that she and many other model's seem to live by is that as long as you feel good you will look good

Today's journey.

Today was the start of my interviews, I met with Angie Smith's assistant in Clapham for a 'chat'. I was pleased to find that Charlotte was lovely she made me feel so welcome and she was so down to earth, we mostly talked about Rachel Zoe as I had her book on my lap and slightly went of subject but if every interview was like that it would be a breeze. It went well but then I was the first out of many to be interviewed so I'm not getting my hopes up but fingers crossed.

Favourite reads.

Magazines are not the only way for you to read about your favourite designers, stylists, style icons. Books, books and more books. A good place to start. Here are two of my favourites, Alexander McQueen 'Genius of a generation' couldn't think of a better title myself and Rachel zoe 'A to Z style' . I need to invest in more, I love a good read.

Green nails anyone?

I thought I would add a bit of colour to my nails, normally I go for red, pink or black... Dull yes I know. So I went for this barry m green. Nail varnish is a great why to add some colour into your outfit.

Faking it.

I've been told one to many times that I need to think positive, in this situation it is for a interview. I may not be the most confident person in the world but I am confident in the sense that I love what I do and I'll do anything to get there. The way I look at it, I prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I don't see the point in convincing myself that I am going to get the internship (in this case) just to be let down in the end because let's face it I'm not the only person out there who want's to work for a celebrity stylist and I'm defiantly not the only person out there who has an interest in fashion. So I guess in a sense sometime's I fake my confidence in the hope of not getting let down, surely I'm not the only one. is faking it all that bad?

Hot new accessory.

You may remember my post about up coming trends, over-sized clutches being one of them. I found these images on weheartit.com. I think they are the perfect accessory to update your wardrobe. Go for a statement one like the floral clutch in the third picture or even a bright colour and you will be rocking this season latest trend.

I have an overload of fluffy cushions on the sofa's which just end up on the floor, so I'm thinking of making my own over-sized clutch with them, I will upload a step by step plan when I get the chance to make it.

I confess I need help...

I have had my blog for well over a year now and have just started using it daily and searching through other blogs I have a lot of work to do to make my blog amazing. One big problem I want a new name "fashion in a blog" is fine but I want something interesting and catchy and the main reason for this is that I am going to sign up to Asos market place and make my own little mini boutique, I have been thinking about doing this for awhile now and have been doing a few sketches lately and plan to go fabric shopping in the next few weeks. For my boutique I'm going to make most of the things from scratch I don't care if I have to sit on my sewing machine hours on end I want to make my own little collection in the hope people will buy my creations and on a plus I'll be earning money for my hard work, I also will buy vintage clothes and DIY them. Okay so back to my point, I need some ideas for some names? how did you come up with your names? where do I look for inspiration?. I have a few ideas so far but nothing stands out to me just yet.

Website find.

This website is described as " a modern boutique with a vintage touch".
They are based in the USA but they do ship and if you find an item you really like then it is worth it. They also ship within 1-2 days so you won't have to wait a stupid amount of time anyway.
